Exile Hub is dedicated to empowering human rights defenders (HRDs), journalists and activists from Myanmar and Southeast Asia, with a focus on leveraging information and communications technologies (ICTs) to protect and promote freedom of expression. It provides a lifeline for those facing persecution, displacement and conflict, equipping them with the tools, skills and networks needed to amplify their voices and continue their critical work.

Its initiatives include training programmes in digital security, multimedia production, and trauma-informed storytelling, designed to enhance the safety and impact of exiled journalists and activists. It supports resilient storytelling through projects like the Resilient Voices Podcast, fostering dialogue and connecting pro-democracy actors in exile. It provides support for e-democracy tools for Myanmar, in order to bridge divides and ensure equitable participation amidst authoritarianism and civil war.

Exile Hub has reached over 2,100 HRDs since 2021 through a combination of safe housing, professional development workshops, and ICT-driven advocacy initiatives. It is committed to fostering freedom of expression, building digital and physical networks of support, and enabling individuals to tell their stories safely and effectively in the face of oppression. Its work stands at the intersection of technology, human rights and resilience.
