The World Press Freedom Day Global conference will explore the vital role of journalism and freedom of expression in the context of current global planetary crises.
During more than 60 sessions over three days, journalists, scientists, artists, activists, political leaders and judicial actors will meet to discuss the challenges of the global environmental crisis and the role of freedom of expression and press freedom in addressing it. The Conference will bring participants together to discuss efforts to strengthen environmental reporting, address dis- and misinformation about environmental issues, promote initiatives to investigate environmental crimes, and ensure the safety of those who expose them.

Around 40 side events organised by partners will take place on May 4, at the Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral in Santiago, Chile.
