Professor of Internet Politics at Berlin's Freie Universität and Honorary Professor at the Central Institute of Further Education at Universität der Künste Berlin. She is the Principal Investigator of the research groups “Democracy and digitization” and “Quantification and social regulation” at the Weizenbaum-Institute for the Networked Society and Director of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society. She was previously head of project groups at the Berlin Social Science Center, expert member at the Parliamentary Enquiry Commission of the Deutscher Bundestag Internet and Digital Society and researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation.
