This workshop is part of a new strategic area for the IDRC – the IDRC Climate Change and Water (CCW) Program – that aims to support applied policy-relevant research to help people adapt to the water-related impacts of climate change.
The workshop will involve three days of presentations and intensive discussions with
expert participants from around the world, as well as a half-day site visit to a project
in the Johannesburg area.
As part of its strategy, IDRC and APC have commissioned a series of regional
scoping studies covering Africa, Asia and Latin America (which you can access by clicking on the link) to identify key research priorities and knowledge gaps. This work has started and its findings will also be shared at the stakeholder workshop.
Some 30 participants will be attending the workshop, and we expect the discussions
to be invigorating and challenging for all those engaged in the field, as well as an
important opportunity to network and to make new cross-sectoral and inter-regional
connections.
