JOIN GENDER, ICTS AND RURAL LIVELIHOODS: SPECIAL ONLINE FORUM

Join e-Agriculture and GenARDIS ( Gender, agriculture and rural development in the information society ) in a special online forum in English that will explore some of the challenges related to implementing projects aimed at empowering women and ICTs in rural areas. The forum will look at what has and has not worked, good practices, as well as the critical area of capacity building and how to further empower women and men to play a bigger role in ICTs for agriculture and rural development. The will also forum also explore monitoring and evaluating, and will facilitate discussions on how to produce evidence that donors need in order to take the importance of women in rural ICTs seriously.
The forum will be hosted entirely online through the FAO’s e-Agriculture community platform.
The forum will be moderated by Jennifer Radloff, Coordinator for the Association for Progressive Communications APC Women’s Networking Support Programme (APC WNSP) for Africa. Also assisting in the facilitation will be: Analia Lavin, Specialist editor for APC communications; Emilar Vushe, Executive assistant and grants administrator, APC; Michael Riggs, e-Agriculture Lead facilitator & knowledge and information management officer, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO); and Charlotte Masiello-Riome, e-Agriculture communications expert, FAO.
