Cynthia El Khoury

Cynthia is the gender and women’s engagement coordinator for the Local Access Programme at APC. Cynthia is a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and a public health graduate. Prior to joining APC, Cynthia developed and designed community health programmes, led community-participatory research focusing on sexual and gender justice in Lebanon and the region, and facilitated care spaces for feminist groups in the Global Majority. In her current role, Cynthia leads the work on integrating gender in various work areas of access. She also leads the work of feminist infrastructures which centre care for communities and the Earth.

Purpose of position

The gender and women’s engagement coordinator coordinates a peer group of women in community networks (including both women-led community networks and women nominated by their respective organisation) from different regions. Working with both the community networks project team and the Women’s Rights Programme, the coordinator fosters ways to organise community networks that ensure that women influence and have a role in affordable and meaningful access to information in their community.
