Narrira Lemos de Souza

Narrira is the Feminist Technology eXchange (FTX) coordinator for the APC Women's Rights Programme. She holds a Master's degree in Sociology, and has more than 15 years of experience working with open source technologies and supporting social and environmental justice organisations and individuals in Brazil, as a digital security trainer and facilitator. Prior to joining APC, she worked at The Tor Project as a user research coordinator, and was the lead researcher at Tech for Forests. When not working, Narrira appreciates long walks, vegetarian food and deep conversations with friends.

Purpose of position

The Feminist Tech eXchange (FTX) coordinator contributes towards ensuring that APC WRP’s FTX strategy engages with and innovates towards building a feminist internet. Her role is to ensure that this work reflects the programmatic vision to build skills, resources and networks for women's rights, feminist and sexual rights activists to effectively engage with and transform digital technologies through a politics and practice of care and safety that emphasises creativity and pleasure. This includes coordination with other WRP strategy teams towards the implementation of APC WRP strategic priorities, strengthening APC WRP's team capacity and APC-wide capacity where relevant, oversight over development and monitoring of budgets, and resource mobilisation.
