Risper Arose

Risper is a community development expert with experience in grassroots community-responsive project design and implementation, digital inclusion, and movement and capacity building. She has worked with culture-diverse communities on different projects to foster a culture of learning, ownership and problem solving through the use of technology. Risper is currently part of the secretariat of the Association of Community Networks in Kenya (ACNKe) and is also the partnership lead for the Tanda community network. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Development (with Honors) degree from Kenyatta University. She collaborates with the African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI)  for the Local Networks initiative as the Africa regional capacity building coordinator.

About AFRALTI 

The African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) has been a champion of broadband access through its capacity building initiatives to the regulators, operators, internet service providers (ISPs) and the community networks on telecommunications, fibre optics, networking and radio frequency (RF) spectrum. The institute is also involved in collaborative research activities on affordable approaches to broadband access through efficient usage of spectrum under the concept of spectrum sharing.
