Natalia Vargas
Natalia Vargas is a project manager with the Sulá Batsú Cooperative and a technician in Local Management for Indigenous Peoples at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (State Distance University). She holds a diploma in Indigenous Peoples' Rights, Territories and Governance of Natural Resources in Central America and another in Challenges of Indigenous Peoples and Climate Change. Being an Indigenous Costa Rican from the Tsiru clan, she also acts as a Cabécar interpreter in the country’s judicial system and worked for four years as a teacher of Cabécar, her mother tongue, with the Ministry of Public Education.
