Rudi International is a non-profit organisation based in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. They currently run three main programmes: Rudi Education (a sponsorship programme for education targeting children affected by conflict), Encourage Mothers (focusing on empowering women affected by conflict to be self-sustaining in their communities), and a programme focused on information and communications technology (ICT).
For the latter, they focus on capacity building, advocacy and research in ICT. They currently work in areas including digital rights and digital inclusion, among others. They want to contribute to the development of the ICT sector in the country and they believe this will be achieved when citizens are informed of their digital rights and how to demand them, are trained to be able to protect themselves from any online threats, and are trained to denounce any action by any stakeholder group that tries to hinder their internet freedom. This will result in them being active citizens and contributors to the development of their country at all levels.
