Lilian Chamorro (until 2023)
Lilian has a degree in electronic and telecommunications engineering and a postgraduate degree in engineering project management, she is currently studying for a master's degree in Technologies and Development Strategies. She has worked since 2004 researching, implementing and managing ICT projects for development related to community networks, gender, education and electronic government, among others in Colombia and currently in Mexico, collaborating with the organization Redes A.C. and Colnodo. She is part of the APC Women's Rights Program, with which she has participated in different activities and events discussing and promoting women's participation in technology. She currently leads special projects, working with community leaders in building their own community networks and exploring sustainability strategies, content creation, training, with a gender focus. She also was the Colnodo representative for the community networks learning grant initiative.
About REDES A.C.
Redes por la Diversidad, Equidad y Sustentabilidad A.C. (REDES A.C.) is a civil society organisation created in 2004 by members committed to diversity, equity and sustainability, promoting networks and enabling processes for organisations, groups and communities. It seeks to build strong and deep relationships with the rural communities and associations it works with, in order to support actions that contribute to Mexico’s development. Since its establishment, it has worked in two main areas: indigenous and community communication and sustainable community development.
Purpose of position
The regional coordinator is nominated as the representative of the implementing partner. The nominated regional coordinator will be the primary person responsible for the regional implementation of:
1. Strengthening the community networks movement through grant support, peer learning and capacity building.
2. In part, enabling the creation of new community networks via awareness raising and movement building.
